Heights Car Care

1320 Main Street #1
Billings, MT 59105

Are you overwhelmed with all the car maintenance that needs to be kept up on your vehicle? Are you wondering about the importance of vehicle maintenance, especially if you aren’t experiencing any car problems? Your mechanic can help you keep track of any car maintenance performed and what all should be taken care of and when to do it. Being a responsible car owner means keeping your vehicle as safe as possible while driving down the road.

So just what is the importance of vehicle maintenance? Because most drivers add at least 10,000 to 15,000 miles to their car in the course of a year, the parts and systems naturally wear down. Just as with anything, the better care you give your car, the longer it will last and the less trouble it will give you.

Here is a general list of car maintenance items that should be taken care of at the recommended intervals:

  1. Change the oil and filter.
  2. Car tune up to ensure that spark plugs, filters, and hoses are clean, intact and doing their job.
  3. Replace the air filter.
  4. Change or adjust the timing belt.
  5. Check headlights, brake lights and turn signals
  6. Check tires—inflation pressure, alignment, and balancing. Rotate as needed.
  7. Has the brake inspected on a regular basis?
  8. Flush the cooling system and inspect for leaks, blockages, contamination, and corrosion/oxidation issues.
  9. Brake fluid flush.
  10. Power steering fluid flush.
  11. Check and change the transmission fluid.

If you notice any dash warning lights come on, hear any strange noises or smell anything unusual coming from your car, take it to your auto shop as soon as possible.
